Usma's day
Usma is a single parent to four year old Inayah. She is a member of support groups which help her build up her confidence, and also helps out at a local community centre.
These photos show the story of Usma's regular Friday routine with her daughter.
7.15am
I start my day by getting the little one and myself up and ready for nursery with breakfast.
8am
I sort her pack lunch and bag with a short walk to the nursery to drop her off.
9.10am
I walk half way and then catch the bus to my mum's support group with Home Start.
12 noon
Back on the bus to grab a quick lunch.
12.30pm
Bring the little one home from nursery so I can do my Friday prayers.
1pm
Off to the library for Inayah's arts and craft session.
3pm
Time for a quick food shop.
3.40pm
Quick play in the park on the way home. If the weather isn't great, we usually have a little story time after her craft class in the library.
Then home to clean, tidy up and cook dinner.
6pm
Leave the house for my Arabic and Islamic studies class where Inayah goes to a kids class where they'll learn about good manners, looking after the sick and giving charity etc with lots of time after for playing games
8.30pm
We arrive home, get her ready for bed, story and settle in with the hope of a sleep in for the next day which never happens but one can wish!
