a day in the life of marsha, ceo of scottish women's aid

Marsha

I'll get up at...

6:00 or 6:30

And then I...

get up a coffee and go through my email from home and work accounts. Sometimes I spend an hour or two writing something when I have a big task that needs uninterrupted time and early morning concentration!

My day will consist of...

Work meetings, press calls, funding applications, staff meetings, being the predictably bolshy feminist at the table.

I'll look after...

Myself mostly these days but also my son. He is grown but always my baby. Friends, of course.

Other things I'll do in the day are...

Think about thinking about planning my next holiday. Trying for the umpteenth time to find a date that all of my friends and I can make for dinner. Emailing my kinda depressed best friend even though she never emails back. Worrying that my son will crash while driving and talking on the phone. Spending too much time playing Words with Friends and reading Twitter and Facebook. Making a resolution to read more of the 'serious' books on my shelf as I open up the next fantasy novel.

I'll go to bed after...

Working too many hours, coming home and throwing something together, calling my son on Facetime and hoping he answers, checking my calendar for tomorrow to see how early I have to get up for tomorrow's first meeting.
